Post-show report Trans Ural 2016

On November 10 -12, the Transportation and Logistics Exhibition-forum Trans Ural 2016 was held at IEC Yekaterinburg EXPO. The exhibition was organized by the Yekaterinburg Group of the ITE Group, the largest international exhibition company in Russia, widely known in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar and Novosibirsk.

At the opening of a landmark event for the Sverdlovsk Region, Vice-Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Sergey Shvindt stressed the importance of the Exhibition- forum for building a dialogue between the participants of the transport and logistics industry in the region with a view to further development. He also expressed the intention to support the event in the future.

Parting words addressed to Trans Ural participants and visitors were told by:

As part of the business program of the Exhibition-forum Trans Ural 2016 the following events were held:

  • Logistics Forum
  • Conference "Logistics in the organization of passenger transportation"
  • Conference "Customs clearance of export-import cargo transportation"
  • Round table "Logistics in Internet Trade"
  • Round table "Development of container transportations and rational distribution of cargo flows by modes of transport and transport corridors"

 
The first session of the Logistics Forum was devoted to the discussion of the issues of efficiency of logistics development in trade and industry. The section was moderated by Emzar Gimayev, President of the non-profit organization "Ural Logistics Association".

In the context of the first session the reports were delivered by:

  • Elena Chernysheva, Chairman of the Commodity Market Committee of the City Administration of Yekaterinburg, summed up the results of the consumer market development for the first half of 2016.
  • Vitaly Hill ("Logopark.RU " company) acquainted visitors with the warehouse real estate market.
  • Oleg Mamayev, Director of  "PNK Group ", shared his experience in the construction of warehouse complexes.
  • Vyacheslav Goloskokov, Lieutenant-General of the Urals Customs Directorate, spoke about places of customs operations as an integral part of logistics chains.
  • Denis Shulga, Logistics Director of Trade Network "Perekrestok" outlined the main challenges of logistics, such as:
  • improving the efficiency of operations;
  • cost reduction;
  • work on minimizing remaining products;
  • reduction of time costs, among other things in the context of market demand for service variability (creation of new supply chains);
  • scope of services;
  • the need for interaction and integration of all participants in logistics chains;
  • active use of analytical tools and forecasting.
  • Alexey Bonin, CEO of ABL company, shared his company's experience as an outsourcer, warehouse services provider.

Topical issues of the development of the transport and logistics services market were discussed during the second session of the Logistics Forum. The moderator of the section was Sergey Shavzis.

The entire block of the session was devoted to the development of rail transportation, the problems and ways of solving the organization of international and domestic road transportation, the ways to improve the technology of groupage, the role of cargo distribution centers, the development of the Aviation TransLogistics Platform. The session also addressed issues related to the problems of transport service enterprises in modern conditions.

A significant event took place as part of the Logistic Forum - the signing of a formal cooperation agreement between the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the non-profit organization "Ural Logistics Association".

Participants of the conference "Logistics in the organization of passenger transportation", held in parallel with the Logistics Forum, discussed:
- suburban passenger transportation by rail,
- the current state of affairs in the organization of intermunicipal regular passenger transportation by road,
- the modernization of the railway and road transport infrastructure,
- the legal and technical support for the improvement and development of the Integrated Transport Services Plan for the Sverdlovsk Region until 2030,
- Interaction of carriers in the suburban and intercity communication by rail and road transport,
- transport development strategy in Yekaterinburg,
- arrangements for transportation of fans during the World Cup in 2018,
- methods of reducing accidents on the roads of the Russian Federation.

            The moderator of the conference was Say Vasily Mikhailovich, a professor of Ural State University of Railway Transport (USURT).

The conference "Customs Clearance of Export-Import Cargo Transportation" caused a particular interest among the representatives of domestic and foreign companies. The scope of the event was supposed to be an extended session of the joint commission for foreign economic activity of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The session was chaired by Alexander Makarov, Vice-President of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Marina Vshivtseva, Executive Vice President of the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Mikhail Golubev, Deputy Minister of International Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The conference addressed the problems of interaction in logistics chains when processing export-import supplies, customs transit procedures, problems of customs examination. In the briefing the questions were answered by Sergey Abrosimov, the Head of the Yekaterinburg Customs and Vadim Vaygult, Head of the Koltsovo Customs.

As part of the Trans Ural business program, there was a discussion on the development of container transportations and the rational distribution of cargo flows by modes of transport and transport corridors. Sergey Shavzis moderated the work of the round table.

Among the issues discussed were, in particular, increasing the efficiency of the use of the Transsib; implementation of measures to strengthen the infrastructure and improve the technology of Russian Railways, as one of the key conditions for the development of container transportation; taking measures to equalize competitive conditions and rational distribution of cargo flows by modes of transport; the development of fast trains and e-commerce channels as the basis for increased cargo containerization. Sergey Shibaev, Director of the branch of PAO "TransContainer" shared his experience in creating competitive advantages in the sphere of containerization.

Presentations were made by Ivan Kolesnikov, First Deputy Head of the Sverdlovsk Railway for Economics, Finance and Corporate Coordination; Sergey Galkin, First Deputy Head of the Directorate of Traffic Management; Alexander Voroshnin, First Deputy of Sverdlovsk Territorial Centre for Corporate Transport Services.

 

According to the feedback of the participants, the event turned out to be challenging and resourceful. They expressed the wish to visit Trans Ural next year, as there are still many urgent issues of transport logistics development, which are to be explored.

This year, 1,066 specialists visited the exhibition-forum Trans Ural 2016, showing a rise (10%) as compared to theprevious year. Detailed analysis of the audience will be available in the final report of the Exhibition-forum Trans Ural 2016.
